Dr. Christine Sorenson, Principal
Jay High School

4 Tiger Drive
Jay, ME 04239

Dear Dr. Sorenson:

Thank you very much for the opportunity to interview for the position of English teacher this morning. Among the many things I enjoyed was our discussion of effective classroom management strategies and ways to "catch students being good." It was a pleasure meeting members of the Jay High School Department of English, all of whom strike me as skillful, student-centered teachers. Given the chance to join their ranks, I look forward to supporting the Writing Across the Curriculum project they will pilot next year. Even if a stronger applicant prevails, I plan to contact Mr. Jamison next year to learn how I can emulate such a program at my future school.

The interview and tour of facilities confirm Jay High School as my first choice for a teaching position. As we discussed earlier today, I believe my professional goals and classroom experience will complement your vision for excellence in teaching. If you have further questions about my candidacy, please feel welcome to contact me at 207-555-1562 or wendy.greenleaff@hotmail.com.

Cordially,
